MEET
TAMEKIA

Psalm 27:4
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in HIS temple.

Rev. Tamekia Antoinette Milton, MDiv. is a worshipper, intercessor, and teacher with a prophetic call and global mandate.  She is a purpose pusher, who is passionately committed to seeing people live and thrive. A native of Sumter, S.C. by way of New York City, her delivery and style is one of a southern etiquette with city swag. Her spiritual growth and development began in her formative years as a child being reared in a loving Christian family, informed by both the Pentecostal and Baptist traditions. Her families’ teaching about faith, along with their spiritual practices of prayer and the study of God’s Word, and exposure to Christian worship, stirred Tamekia’s witness and passion for ministry at an early age. She began singing in church at age 3 and directing choirs at age 12. Yet, the nature and measure of the call of God on her life has been revealed over the course of time, years later.

Rev. Milton has been reared in the faith by several of God’s chosen elect, yet she honors her maternal Grandmother, the late Mother Margaret Fuller Taylor as the one who identified her calling as an evangelist, at age 18. In 2013, Rev. Milton was licensed and ordained in the Gospel of Jesus of Christ, at Gethsemane Baptist Church: The Transformation Place (Newport News, Va) under the leadership of her Father in Ministry, Bishop Dr. Dwight S. Riddick, Sr. While at GBC, she served as the Pastor of Member Care, overseer for Beyond the Veil Worship Ministry, established  and led The A.G.A.P.E. Grief Ministry and The Healing Oil Health and Wellness Ministry.

Rev. Milton comes from a lineage of educators, yet recognizes her divine gift to teach as part of her sacred calling. She has cultivated her identity and authentic style through a matriculation in higher education. She graduated from Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA) in May 2005 with a B.A. in Music Performance and a minor in Education and earned a Master of Divinity Degree with a Certificate in Religious Education, in May 2010, from Emory University, Candler School of Theology (Atlanta, GA). Upon completing her MDiv., Rev. Tamekia embarked upon the vocational path of chaplaincy and became a Chaplain Intern (2010) and was later hired as a Chaplain Resident (2011-2012) with The Emory Center for Pastoral Services, at Emory University Hospital (Atlanta, GA); accredited by ACPE-The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education.

In September 2012, Rev. Milton accepted an ACPE Supervisory training position; at The Veteran Affairs Medical Center, in Hampton, Va. She served there for three years as a chaplain and pastoral counselor, CPE supervisor, and a Regional Representative for the ACPE Racial Ethnic Multicultural Invitational (REM), while completing her supervisory training. In October 2015, she relocated to Alabama to accept an administrative promotion, with Brookwood Baptist Health Systems, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center (Birmingham, AL). While there, Tamekia served as the CPE educator and staff chaplain for the Comprehensive Cancer Center. In April 2016, she was appointed and hired as the first youth pastor in the 113 year history of Trinity Baptist Church (Birmingham AL). During that time Rev. Tamekia hearkened to the instructions of the Lord to establish an itinerant ministry. In January 2017, she started recording The Spiritual Thought of the Day- a daily 15 minute inspirational segment on Facebook. In March 2017, she began hosting Savory Saturdays- a one hour meet-up at a local bakery for conversation in the Word of God, over tea, coffee, and pastries. In May 2017, Rev. Tamekia began Word-Charge-Wednesday- a virtual weekly message to God’s people. In November 2017, she completed the formal requirements and was granted certification as an ACPE CPE Associate Educator.

In August 2018, she migrated to Baltimore Maryland, to accept the position of Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor for The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System. In her role, Tamekia trains, educates, supervises, and mentors chaplain residents and interns, in cultivating their ability to provide spiritual support and pastoral care. In January 2019 she was voted in as a Member of The Johns Hopkins Hospital Ethics Committee and Consultation Service (where she serves as one of two African American women/people). She was later appointed as the first Pastor of Community Education for The Johns Hopkins Health System Medical Religious Partnership.

In May 2019, Rev. Milton was conferred a full ACPE Certified Educator and joined The Senior Faculty of The Johns Hopkins Academic Division of CPE. On August 19, 2019, she received a word of revelation from the Lord for The Prayer Chain International Prayer Invitational. The ministry began on September 3rd , 2019 and has been going weekly ever since. In 2021 she became the Founder and CEO of Tamekia Inspires Consulting Group, LLC. and in March of 2021, Rev. Milton birthed the vision of Spring Forth Empowerment Prayer Conference.  In June of 2021, Rev. Milton was promoted to Manager of The Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Pastoral Education Program. She is the first Black Woman to assume this position. In March 2022 Rev. Tamekia wrote and self- published her first book, “You Can, You Shall, You Will, You Must: The Art of Fulfilling and Pursuing Purpose, Promise, and Destiny.

To this and so much more Rev. Tamekia states, “To God Be All the Glory!” In addition to her vocational role and responsibilities in health care administration, she travels as an invited revivalist, psalmist, lecturer, and workshop facilitator; as she remains involved and invested in congregational ministry. Her faith, love of God, family, and people, inspire the embodiment of her motto, “Living to Serve, Accomplishing to Impart.” Tamekia continues to expand her reach and professional acumen. She is currently a Social Psychology PhD student at Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA).
