At the start of a New Year, the turn of a Birthday, or any other era changing occurrence, many people (myself included), focus so much energy and attention toward “the new.” Whether it’s setting new goals, creatively releasing a new idea, launching a business, becoming more disciplined, healing from a toxic or traumatic experience that left you bruised or broken, or deepening your relationship with God; there are particular times in our lives where we are more observant and intentional about cultivating and attending to ourselves in a new way.
We put emphasis and often times pressure on recreating a better set up for our lives on behalf of a particular turning point, withstanding the fact that each day, our lives are worth the same level of investment. I want to submit and bring to your awareness this very familiar adage: “Why put off for tomorrow what you can do today.” Why wait to experience what could be destined as your portion, today? Today is as likely and favorable as any other day. Why? Because it is a Fresh Start!
Seize the time you have been given today and each day following, by approaching it as a Fresh Start! See it as an opportunity to build and work towards your dreams, goals, and best life. Choose to “set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.” (Col. 3:2) Expect, Believe, and have Faith in the possibility of things changing, happening, and shifting for you, today!
I’m reminded of Jesus in Matt. 3:1-6 when He healed the man with the withered hand on the Sabbath. And, in John 5:1-15 when He healed/made whole the man at the pool of Bethesda. In both Biblical accounts, these unexpected occurrences, which brought about #DivineActivity, took place on random days, in what appeared to be a regular moment. Some even perceived it was inappropriate, unlawful, and out of order for Jesus to work these miracles and manifest these releases, because they did not occur on a designated day or within a particular time frame.
Can I help someone out right here? Your time, your day, your season, and your life is orchestrated by God and God alone. “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” (Acts 1:7) In other words, what is planned and purposed for you, is on command by God, not by demand of people.
Beloved, there is an appointed time and an acceptable year concerning your life. Don’t underestimate what God can do with The Fresh Start of Any Given Day!
Live hopeful in view of the opportunities and outcomes scheduled, today!
Yes, for many, this is and will be “the year.” Yet, don’t miss out on anticipating what God has in store everyday of the year!
